How do I know if the career of a transcriptionist is right for me?
Answer: If you love to type, enjoy research, are an accurate typist, proofread your documents, punctuate appropriately, always do a spell check and enjoy learning every day, the medical transcription field could be for you. You must be able to pay attention to DETAILS.
How much money will I make if I only choose to work part-time?
Answer: You can expect approximately $100 to $200 a month in the beginning, if not more. This depends on how many hours you are willing to work.

EMPLOYEE TRAINING
Mrs. Taylor had been teaching the Medical Transcription Course at Madison-Oneida BOCES, as well as providing an Internship Program for the beginner transcriptionist. At the end of the program, transcriptionists will have the confidence and ability to transcribe for their profession of choice.
SEVEN (7) DAYS A WEEK AROUND THE CLOCK
Here’s How:
- Potential transcriptionists have an opportunity to be an employee or subcontractor, based on testing. We will have the most qualified staffed at our location.
- Our employees will have undergone over 3 months of proper medical transcription training with medical terminology and appropriate usage of Macros/Word Perfect/Abbreviations and Templates. All Transcriptionists must communicate through AIM.
- Of utmost importance: We put security and privacy issues as our top priority. An employee’s breach of contract will be cause for immediate dismissal.

As we all know, to run a business is a challenge all on its own. In order for any company to grow, Computers On Hand will remain competitive, transitioning the market to leading edge digital techniques and pricing.
If the businessman/ woman/ secretary/ attorney/ student/ professor/ doctor uploads at noon, the turn-around time for that transcription could be the same day but most are 24 hrs. Our turn-around time will be no more than 48 hours. We assure the documentation to be accurate and as always, a priority.

“Yes,” we will still offer micro cassette transcription, although, we would like to transfer our clients into the digital phase. You must be within a30-mile radius of a home-based transcriptionist or our company. The DS3000 above is as easy as Record, Stop, Click the software icon on your desktop, plug in unit, files are transmitted…..You are ready for another day.
The digital voice recorder is a slim line unit with crystal clear voice files utilizing a Smart Media Card that holds over 3 hours of dictation.

What Else Should You Know About Our Company?
The company has been in existence since March of 2000. The CEO, (Vicki) Mrs. Veronica K. Evans Taylor is a Computer Systems Technologist. Not only does she transcribe over 90 wpm, design and edit the Hamilton Rotary Telephone Book, she is our computer systems (office) technology instructor; teaching the beginner to advanced student. Mrs. Taylor has over 20 years experience working in the community and putting service above self, a member of the Hamilton Rotary Club.
